In the charity celebrity stockcar races, former A1GP pilot Earl Bamber looked completely at home behind the wheel of the Sam Doyle Superstock and demonstrated why he is continually knocking at the door for entry in to the top tier of single-seater racing internationally. Former NZ cricket international Nathan Astle was another to look at ease behind the grill of the Brett Hyslop stockcar. Gary McCormick and Christian Cullen were others to seemingly have no problems slotting in to the groove while the likes of Tim Shadbolt, Annette Main and Ivan Mauger all had their moments. Bamber easily accounted for the field in the first event and NZAF pilot Shaun Clark won the second.
