Wanganui
Demo Derby - 23 April 2010
Reporting by Roger Morrison and pictures by Mike Pollard

Stratford Stormers continued their good record over the Wanganui Vulcans on Friday night when they triumphed in a hard fought Stockcar Teams race at Eastside Auto Recyclers Oceanview Speedway. Led by a fine performance from 79S Shane Hurliman the Stormers were too slick in their execution of a well managed plan.

Superstocks

Just the six cars on show with the five locals joined by Paul West in the 32P Graeme Barr car. The feature of the night's racing was the speed on Antony Cooper in the 15V Morris Doyle rocketship. The car was absolutely humming and his quickest lap time of 16.75 sec was only a hair-breadth away from the 16.58 record held by Phil Ogle.

Results:-

Race One: 1. 15V Antony Cooper. 2. 5V Darryl Taylor. 3. 99V Richard Watkins. 4. 23V Scott Duncan. 5. 35V Mick Paul. 6. 32P Paul West.

Race Two: 1. 5V. 2. 15V. 3. 99V. 4. 23V. 5. 35V.

Race Three: 1. 15V. 2. 5V. 3. 35V. 4. 32P.

28 cars fronted for a torrid Demolition Derby in the final event for the night. Bruce ??? from Marton outlasted the opposition to take the prize money on offer
