Young Kyle Heibner produced a
fitting result by claiming the Hebies Youth Ministock Remembrance
Trophy on Friday night at Eastside Auto Recyclers Oceanview
Speedway. Craig Heibner passed away last October after a battle with
cancer. His nephew Kyle produced a terrific drive in the last heat
to claim the title in a car which Craig had worked on before his
death.
Craig Heibner Superstock Dash For Cash
The expected influx of Superstocks once again did not eventuate with
only 93P James Soane, 282S Phil Ogle and 45S Daniel Guilford making
the commitment to race with the 5 locals who included 5V Daryl
Taylor having his first run of the season.
Heat One
Soane carried over his form from winning the West Coast Superstock
Champs a few weeks back to easily claim the first heat. Only 35V Sam
Doyle looked to have a ping at Soane with his efforts hampered by a
flat tyre.
Heat Two
Ogle strolled away with the 2nd heat from Taylor and Soane. Soane,
Taylor, Ogle and 99V Richard Watkins were all separated only by 1
point apiece.
Heat Three
Doyle did not re-appear for the last heat. And with Taylor infield
after one lap it became a battle between Ogle, Watkins and Soane.
Soane however slowed with a flat tyre and was spun up to stagger
home later in last place. Watkins had led but Ogle forced his way
past to take the chequered flag and the first prize money.
