HISTORIC MOTORSPORTS SHOW -
STONELEIGH
25 to 27 February 2005

by Dave Carter.
This was the second-running of the Historic Motorsports Show at the National Agricultural
Centre at Stoneleigh near Leamington Spa. This presented too good an opportunity to use up
some leave and find out what it was all about, tempted by the knowledge that the Heritage
Stock Cars had made an appearance at last year's show.
The thing that surprised me most about this event was its size. I was expecting it to be
on the small side and while the venue is not the NEC it was packed to the rafters with
vintage racing tin along with lots of interesting sellers and an Autojumble. At the latter
there was some astonishingly good value NASCAR T-shirts, hats and model cars.
For the oval racefan there were four Heritage cars as well as some grasstrackers. Maybe
its a case of 'beauty in the eye of the beholder' but I felt there the Stock Cars more
than stood their ground against the more usual historic motorport displays and the BrISCA
Heritage stand certainly occupied a very well-located space in the centre of the
exhibition.
Overall, an event well worth attending if you get the chance in the future.
