Now into its sixth year Race Retro is now firmly established on the calendar. Aston Martin and the Mini's 50th Birthday are two of the key features of this years event but probably the best feature is its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We may well be in a recession but the exhibition halls appeared as full as ever and I even heard that one company couldn't attend the show this year because they couldn't afford the time, they simply had too much work on!

There has never been a large oval racing presence at the show. This year, as usual, the Autograssers were present and there was a very smart Classic Hot Rod on the Retro Ford Stand. Apart from that Jo Polley's circuit Mini is as close as you get. Still, if historic motor racing interests you then this the event for you.
