STOCK MARKET 09 – NORTHAMPTON INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
SUNDAY 22nd NOVEMBER – START TIME 10a.m.
A few days
left before the annual Stock Market takes place. Plenty of race cars,
trailers, transporters and of course spares will be on offer as lots of
bookings have been taken already. However if you are coming along you are
more than welcome to pay on the gate instead of booking but if you let us
know what you are intending on bringing we can advertise the fact. We have
had lots of potential buyers on the phone asking what cars and transporters
are going to be there, in particular three drivers looking to purchase
Lightening Rods. So if you have a Lightening Rod which you would like to
move on bring it down to NIR on Sunday because at least three racers will
have cash burning a hole in their pocket!
Remember if you do book and pay in advance you will receive an extra
admission pass and bookings and credit card payments can be taken up until
Saturday evening.
Plenty of traders are coming along all with plenty of Christmas bargains. If
you are building cars over the closed season come along and pick up all your
bits and pieces. If you are in the FII brigade don't miss the Rebels
Engineering stand which will have gear kits, half shaft kits, lightened
brake discs plus the chance to have a look at the all new singing and
dancing uprights which will be on the market very soon.
The weather is finally looking to have turned a corner by Sunday so fingers
crossed for a dry, sunny event.
Remember the track will be available all day for testing, please book and
sign in at the pit office (cost £15 per driver).
Food outlets will be open during the day along with the bar.
Stand Prices have been held for yet another year. Gate admission price is only £5 with children and
OAP’s free. Alternatively if you have any questions you can email
StockMarket2009@aol.com or call 07855 442 667
*******Please note the date for this event is the 22nd November.*********
Gates open to sellers at 9.30a.m. for set up and 10a.m to buyers.

VICTORY LANE
Stuart Fox World Champion
Well done to STUART FOX for winning the Stock Rod World Championship at Cowdenbeathlast
Saturday evening. Stuart is the first Incarace World Champion for some time now and
deserves a fantastic round of applause for pulling off a great Championship win.
Having damaged his new car at Northampton on August Bank Holiday Monday, disgruntled
Stuart nearly threw the towel in, such was his disappointment on the day, but a decision
to use his older, tried and tested car was made along with many hours in the workshop over
the following two weeks.
Stuart has always shown a liking for the Cowdy track and started the meeting in the best
possible way by qualifying on pole for the big race by topping the early evening time
trials. Stuart powered to the win in a flag to flag victory, brushing aside two yellow
flag stoppages, all very similar to the Carl Boardley triumph this year at the National
Hot Rod World.
This is a fantastic win for Stuart, having come very close on a couple of previous
occasions and more that makes us for his Midland Championship disappointment earlier in
the year at Wheels when he was involved in a contentious incident which put him out of a
winning position.
We look forward to seeing Stuart with that Gold roof very soon.
Well done Stuart Fox 2009 Stock Rod World Champion
Graham Charlesworth World Champion
The first of two World Champions was crowned at Buxton Raceway on Sunday 13th September
when Graham Charlesworth (53) took the World Wide Rebellion title for the second time in
his career. It was a fantastic race with a lot of action which saw top contenders Mark
Rodgers, Nathan Etheridge and defending Champion Lee Cooke, all fall by the wayside.
Well done Graham Charlesworth 2009 Rebels World Wide Rebellion Champion
Micky Brennan World Champion
Was Sunday 13th going to be a day of surprises at Buxton?
The F2 World at Buxton certainly did promise something with the two front rows looking
very interesting, and interesting it was on turn 1, with a massive hit from Rob Speak from
row two which ultimately saw retirements for Speak, Bradbury, Moodie, Sworderand Simpson.
So it was left for Robbie Dawson, the only one of the top four to survive the first bend
pile up to grab his chance of victory. It wasnt to be as the superb Micky Brennan,
celebrated his 21st birthday, by catching and passing the 854 car for a fabulous victory
that a very, very proud father Dave is still not quite believing!
Many congratulations to Micky, who is a well travelled driver and will be a worthy
Champion and a very proud young man to carry that coveted Gold Roof. Due to other
commitments, we wont be seeing Micky on Saturday 26th as it is actually his 21st Birthday
celebration party, and he was unable to accept our invitation last weekend at the Masters
at NIR as he raced at his local track Barford, which was unfortunate for us, but very
understandable, with Micky supporting his own local track.
We will be seeing him soon anyway, and he has promised to be with us as often as possible
I am sure he will get a really good reception, when he does.
Well done Micky Brennan 2009 BriSCA F2 World Champion
Andrew Smith World Champion
The F1 World looked a similar prospect to the F2 World, just six days earlier, but didnt
get the same action as the Buxton race.
Well done to Andrew Smith, who made sure that the local B & Q didntmake any dramatic
sales in Gold spray paint, by retaining his World Championship status in what will go down
in history as a flag to flag victory. With the first three places coming from three of the
first four grid positions, it would have looked to have been a pretty boring race as such,
but in fact it wasnt that bad and congratulations to Andrew on a fine drive, who has
basically now lead 50 consecutive World Final laps over the last two races.
Well done Andrew Smith 2009 BriSCA F1 World Champion

Daniel Phillips
I am very please to let everyone know that Banger driver Dan Phillips is out of hospital
following the crash on Sunday at Northampton International Raceway. Dan sounded very
cheerful on the phone this afternoon and is currently resting at home. Whilst Dan has
received very severe bruising to his back, it is almost certain that he hasnt got
any broken bones, which is fantastic news. We all wish Dan a speedy recovery and look
forward to him returning to the track in the not too distant future.

PURE VAN-DEMONIUM THIS BANK HOLDAY MONDAY
When you think of racing vehicles, vans are not the first thing that spring to mind, but
at Hednesford Hills Raceway this Spring Bank Holiday Monday that is exactly what we shall
see!
Van Banger racing has not been seen at the Cannock quarter mile oval for a few years, but
on Monday May 25th a field of Ford Transits, LDVs, Mercedes Sprinters and more will head
into battle on the UKs biggest and fastest banger track. The bigger the van, the
more hits it can take, and our drivers will do their best to turn out all kinds of weird
and wonderful machines which one of these diesel-powered crashing machines will be
last one moving at the end of the Demolition Derby?
Also in action will be the fantastic Rebel Racers on their first Hednesford appearance of
2009. These little cars may have engines of just 850cc, but they produce some of the most
spectacular racing seen anywhere on the UKs short ovals, and as a result are hugely
popular with both fans and drivers.
High-speed non-contact action is provided by the Lightning Rods, a formula which has seen
a surge in driver numbers in recent weeks. These Ford Sierra-based speed machines always
offer spectacular tail-sliding racing which is certainly not for the faint of heart
expect plenty of NASCAR-style three-wide racing.
All in all, there is no better family day out this Bank Holiday Monday than Hednesford
Hills Raceway why not make a weekend of it with action also at Birmingham Wheels
Raceway on Saturday night?
Hednesford Hills Raceway has been staging stock car and banger racing for over 40 years,
and the banked asphalt quarter-mile oval is the fastest of its kind in the UK. The track
is situated just two miles from Cannock town centre follow the brown tourist signs
from the A5.

A MAGNIFICENT MIX OF BANK HOLIDAY ACTION AT NIR
There is only one place to be for first-class entertainment this Spring Bank Holiday
Monday, and that is Northampton International Raceway.
Four fantastic formulas will be in action at the Brafield quarter mile, with something to
suit everyones tastes on track.
For fans of crash and bash action, a big field of Bangers is anticipated. These
life-expired road cars are simple to prepare for racing and great fun both to compete in
and watch as they push and shove each other around the raceway. Drivers have a choice
they can either race for the spoils, or get stuck into their opposition.
For fans of high-speed racing, we present the Legends Cars and Stock Rods. The US-built
Legends are one of the most popular formulas racing on the UKs oval tracks, and once
you see them in action its easy to see why. Based on classic 1930s American hot rods
and powered by Yamaha superbike engines, these cars have phenomenal acceleration and
demand great driving skill.
The Stock Rods, meanwhile, are high-revving 1400cc hatchback speed machines, and Incarace
boast some of the UKs finest drivers in this ultra-close formula.
Completing the line-up are the Ministox, a formula acting as the training ground for the
ovals stars of tomorrow. These 11-16 year olds produce excellent racing in their armoured
Minis whenever they appear at NIR, and many past Ministox stars have gone on to become
some of the biggest stars on the ovals.
Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton,
and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of
Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the
Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.
Entry this Bank Holiday Monday is just £12 adults and £6 children with family tickets
(two adults and up to three children) at £30, and this includes a souvenir programme.
Great viewing is available all around the raceway, with hot and cold food and a licensed
bar on offer throughout the meeting. Action gets underway at 1.30pm bring the whole

A new season roars into life at NIR!
Northampton International Raceway kicks off the 2009 stock car racing season in style on
Sunday March 8th, with three formulas in action.
The ever-popular Bombers formula may be under a new name, but they will provide just as
much entertainment as in 2008. Now known as Bangers (with the full-on contact Bangers
known being known as National Bangers), these cars are designed to be simple to and fairly
cheap to build, and provide great entertainment as they spin and crash their way to the
flag. This season sees a great increase in meetings for this formula at all three of
Incaraces tracks, and driver numbers are going up all the time.
Also on track will be the 1400cc Stock Rods, one of Northamptons finest non-contact
formulas. These small hatchbacks saw an absorbing battle for their points title last year
between 829 Stuart Fox and 924 Stuart Wright with the latter coming out on top by just two
points. A big field of these high-speed Novas, Corsas and Saxos is expected, and close
racing is assured.
Completing the entry are the Ministox, with young racers aged 12 to 16 battling it out in
this training ground for the oval stars of tomorrow. This meeting is a landmark in the
formulas history, as nudge and spin contact racing is allowed for the first time
who knows what will happen? Several drivers have looked quick in pre-season
practice, including 212 Ben Bate and 204 Dan Phillips, so new stars could be in the making
in 2009.
Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton,
and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of
Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the
Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.
Entry prices for this season are frozen at 2008 level, and entry this Sunday is just £12
adults and £6 children with family tickets (two adults and up to three children) at £30,
and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available all around the raceway,
with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the meeting. Action gets

Birmingham Wheels Raceway
Saturday 7th March
A new season roars into life at Wheels!
Birmingham Wheels Raceway kicks off the 2009 stock car season in style on March 7th with
three fantastic formulas in action under the floodlights at the Bordesley Green quarter
mile.
The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars enjoyed a stunning Wheels season in 2008, and are expected to
attend in huge numbers for their first appearance of the season. These 2 litre engined
speed machines provide some of the best racing seen anywhere in the UK whenever they
appear at Birmingham, and it is no surprise that drivers attend the raceway from all over
the UK.
March 7th marks the first session of the second annual March Speedweeks competition for
the F2s, with 101 Kelvyn Whalley defending the title. Meetings are held for the class
every Saturday during March, with the Final taking place on March 28th.
The season opener also marks the start of the seventh annual BriSCA Central League. Last
season saw 886 Chris Bradbury add the title to his National Points championship in
Novembers Grand Final after a truly epic race, and he will no doubt be eager to kick
off his campaign to retain the title. Qualifying meetings take place at tracks across the
Midlands throughout the year, with the final held at Wheels in November.
In support of the F2s comes crash and bash action from the Bangers. Formerly known as
Bombers, these cars are designed to be simple to build and great fun to race, and provide
great entertainment as they spin and crash their way to the flag. This season sees a great
increase in meetings for this formula at all three of Incaraces tracks, and drivers
numbers are going up all the time.
Completing the three-formula line-up are the Hot Fords, a class aimed at the grass-roots
budget racer. This multitude of Fiestas and Escorts provide ultra-close race action, with
winners impossible to predict.
All in all, it promises the be a great night of racing at the home of Second City
motorsport as the 2009 stock car season takes its first green flag.
Birmingham Wheels Raceway is situated off Landor Street in the Bordesley Green area, close
to St Andrews football ground. Action gets underway on Saturday 7th March at 6.45pm
please note this new start time for all 2009 Wheels meetings.

Annual John Heynes Memorial Heartbreaker -
Northampton International Raceway - Sunday 15 Now
rearranged for 22 February 2009*
* Unfortunately the ice and snow at
Northampton is still causing problems and this being the case the decision has been made
to postpone The Heartbreaker from 15th Feb to the following weekend on 22nd Feb.
Many a tale of broken hearts often follow Valentines Day, but on February 22nd this
year the scene at Northampton International Raceway is more likely to be one of bent and
broken cars.
The annual John Heynes Memorial Heartbreaker has become the biggest National Banger
meeting of the season at the Brafield quarter mile, and the last two years have seen
entries of well over 100 cars raced to destruction.
This year a similar entry is expected including drivers and teams travelling from all over
the UK, and some rare cars are expected as well.
The meeting is split into two classes of Bangers, with the 2 Litre class for cars with
engines up to that size and the Unlimited class where the bigger the car, the
better!
Each class will contest four races during the afternoon, plus a Demolition derby each
where the last car still going will be the winner!
The Heartbreaker is one of Northamptons longest-established meetings, and now also
celebrates the life of John Heynes, one of the longest-serving promoters in stock car
racing who was in charge at the Brafield venue for many years.
Overall, its all shaping up to be a day of first class Banger racing from the
biggest stars of the sport the action gets underway on Sunday 22nd February at
1.30pm, with gates opening at 10.30am.
Northampton International Raceway is located approximately five miles from Northampton,
and easily found from M1 Junction 15. Take the A428 and head for the village of
Brafield-on-the-Green. In the village take the turn on the right towards Horton, and the
Raceway is on the right before reaching Horton.
Entry is just £12 adults and £6 children with family tickets (two adults and up to three
children) at £30, and this includes a souvenir programme. Great viewing is available all
around the raceway, with hot and cold food and a licensed bar on offer throughout the
meeting. Bring the whole family along for a day out to remember!
