NATIONAL EXHIBITION
CENTRE, BIRMINGHAM Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 January 2008
AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL
Pictures & reporting by Dave Carter
Autosport International '09 is as big as ever
and a good way to spend a few hours away from all the doom and gloom! It is also very
refreshing to report that after a number of years where the basic configuration of the
show stayed much the same there has been a big switch about so if you think you know where
things are going to be then think again 'cos they're not! As usual the Thursday/Friday are
the main Press and Trade Show days whereas the Saturday/Sunday are the public days.
The Oval Racing Experience replace the Engineering part of the show for Saturday and
Sunday so the main oval interest on the opening two days is in the Live Action Arena
where, as has become the January tradition the BriSCA F1s and Autograss cars again feature
as part of the show. For the first time ever Banger racing has been introduced with some
pretty spectacular racing over the Figure of Eight. The Live Action Arena - for me at
least - is always the highlight of the Show so don't miss out on your visit and don't
forget that there are two special oval race meetings at the end of the day on both the
Saturday and Sunday.
This gallery features a illustrative selection of photos from the show and paddock area of
the Live Action Arena. Get along, its huge with a massive amount of things to see and do.
